Works Unlimited (WU - like WOOO - this is awesome!) was incorporated in Aiken, South Carolina on March 24, 1994. We began making a difference in the lives of youth throughout the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) through plays, fashion shows, etiquette classes, and music promotion. In recent years, we provided aid to the homeless in California and in the Metro DC areas.
Until December of 2021, most of our support was through personal donations, but as of December 28, 2021, we will begin seeking financial support through grants, fundraisers, donations, and sales (products and services). To facilitate this new endeavor, we have opened a corporate account.
WU is currently active in Maryland (Brunswick, Baltimore), South Carolina (Aiken), Georgia (Augusta and Atlanta), and will increase our outreach to Michigan (Detroit) and Washington DC (metro area).
This document is the beginning of the revamping of WU to increase its ability to reach youth and assist low income families. As of today, January 1, 2022, our main focus will be youth development. As we grow and increase our resources, we will branch into other areas - counseling (leadership, financial literacy, life coaching), low income family assistance, homeless aid, and continuing education.
Works Unlimited’s mission is to transform our culture by educating and inspiring youth to raise their voices to create real and lasting change.
Works Unlimited aspires to be the number one resource for youth development and continuing education for low-income families. We will accomplish this through community outreach, financial coaching, family counseling, and youth development programs.
Our guiding principles and beliefs - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
Christianity (Glory to God) - Our values are based in our faith and belief in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
Leadership - We have a strong team of Servant Leaders who understand the vision and will accomplish WU’s goals by guiding staff and volunteers toward an outcome that fosters growth and encouragement. Matthew 20:28
Learning/Education - We lead by example (walk the talk), while receiving knowledge from life experience and from those around us. Psalm 32:8
Discipline - We work with focus and consistency, because working hard for a day yields temporary results. We exhibit the biblical codes of behavior, as we demonstrate excellence in all that we do. Proverbs 3:11-12
Compassion - Empathy and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. We do not attempt to solve any problems without first understanding the issue. We accomplish this by listening intently, ask clarifying questions, repeat back what we have heard, and then suggest possible solutions. John 15:12-13
Service - We meet others where they are. We offer youth development programs, assist with obtaining higher education, and assist in our community as mentors; all done with the spirit of gratitude. Proverbs 19:17
Excellence - We do all things decently and in order. We strive for excellence in everything that is done in service to our community and we give all honor to God. Colossians 3:23
Good Stewardship - We are fiscally responsible for the resources that are entrusted to us, and we use those resources as intended. Titus 2:7
